Provides flight information and alerting services to pilots, including weather briefings, NOTAMs, and filing flight plans.

FIR

Flight Information Region 
A specified region of airspace in which flight information and alerting services are provided. CZQM FIR is one example.

Flight Service Station
A facility that provides information and advisory services to aircraft in uncontrolled airspace.
